1.    What is your full name? Carl Peter Wallace
2.    When are where were you born? Beloit Memorial Hospital-Beloit Wisconsin
3.    What is your earliest childhood memory? Not Sure how old (3 or 4) but went to hospital to get large sliver removed from stomach
4.    What kind of games did you play growing up? Loved to be outside and loved sports.  Played the usual football, baseball, basketball from very early on (had two older brothers). When inside I remember always wanting to play The Game of Life, Monopoly and several card games.
5.    What was your favorite thing to do for fun (movies, beach, etc.)? This one is easy-loved to go fishing.
6.    What school activities and sports did you participate in? I played basketball in grade school and Wrestled in high school. In high school I participated in both FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America)
7.    Who were your childhood heroes? Roger Staubach, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.  Can’t really think of another “hero” other than the usual dad, police man or firefighter
8.    How is the world today different from what it was like when you were a child? Too much to mention.
9.    Are there any physical characteristics that run in your family?  Well, I would say hair is scarce.
10. Where and when did you get married? 4/20/1991 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Greenfield, Wisconsin
11. What memory stands out the most from your wedding day?  There are several but the one that is least typical is that the limo driver had a broken leg and was in a full cast.
12. Why did you choose your children's names? I chose the oldest and got the idea from a nickname on a television show and when I heard the real name thought the combo was great.  My second child’s name was chosen after narrowing it down from a few and my wife making the final decision.
13. What was your proudest moment as a parent? There are several “proudest” moments with each child.  They are continual as each has grown.  However, if I had to pick one it would simply be the birth of each of my daughters and being in the delivery room.  Being able to make the phone call to announce the new is a special feeling.
14. What was your profession and how did you choose it? I am a General Sales Manager for an automobile dealership.  How I chose it was by accident.  After graduating from college, I wanted to move to one of a couple larger cities that I had friends in and were somewhat near my home. Needing to make money I took the first thing that came a long and have advanced along the way. Too much time has passed to make a change.
15.  What accomplishments were you the most proud of? I am assuming this questions is asking about accomplishments from my childhood or high school years.  The one that comes to mind first is my success in a large invitational Judo tournament.  Won first place in my bracket.
16. Of all the things you learned from your parents, which do you feel was the most valuable? Doing what you know is the right thing no matter the outcome. I know this is really a blanket statement but it is the most valuable.
17.  Are there any special heirlooms, photos, bibles or other memorabilia that have been passed down in your family? My parents are still alive so I am taking this question as meaning being passed down from my grandparents or before. In this case, not really.  Other than an antique mirror, silverware and a couple other items (a few books and pictures), I can’t think of much.
18. Who was the oldest relative you remember as a child? What do you remember about them? Either my grandfather on my mom’s side or my dad’s aunt. I remember my grandfather was a great gardener and pretty handy.  As for my dad’s aunt, she lived in California and only met her a couple times.
19.  Did you have any pets? If so, what kind and what were their names? Yes.  Zorba was my first dog.  Molly was my second dog. Did have a dog in college but it was kind of a shared dog that we should have never gotten and ended up giving her away.   Her name was Ashley.  My fourth dog when I had a house of my own was Billy.  Currently we have another dog named Bueller.  I did have several fish growing up but didn’t really name them.
20. What world events had the most impact on you while you were growing up? Did any of them personally affect your family? While I was growing up it probably would have been the Vietnam War.  Although I was fairly young and didn’t realize it at the time, it had the “biggest” impact.
21.  What was your favorite toy and why? This is easy. It was my Vertibird Air Police Helicopter.  Could play for hours with it by myself, friend or brother.  Was also great for terrorizing the dog.
22. Did you receive an allowance? How much? Did you save your money or spend it? I did have an allowance when I started having chores.  Hard to remember but it started at about 25 cents  and went up from there.  I did start outside lawn job and a paper route by age 10 and don’t remember needing an allowance after that.  As for saving versus spending, I did both.  At first it was spend the allowance but after I started making money on my own, I did a fair job at saving some.
23. Any trouble with the law? I was a little reckless in my driving.  I did get a few tickets in my first few years of driving and had a couple accidents as well.  Glad to say that other than the driving mishaps, I have had no other brushes with the law.
24. What is your favorite memory of all time? Not sure I can pick a favorite. I have some from each of the different phases of my life and can’t really rank them.
  5.  If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be? Would have done better in college.

1.    What is your full name? Joan Kelly Cohen
2.    When are where were you born? Pleasant Hills, Pa
3.    What is your earliest childhood memory? Christmas with my brother, in matching outfits.
4.    What kind of games did you play growing up? Jacks, kick the can, basketball
5.    What was your favorite thing to do for fun (movies, beach, etc.)? Read -  was a big reader
6.    What school activities and sports did you participate in? Pom-Poms
7.    Who were your childhood heroes? Elizabeth Tudor, Queen of England in late 1500
8.    How is the world today different from what it was like when you were a child? The technology is the biggest difference we did not have cell phones, cable TV, internet etc.
9.    Are there any physical characteristics that run in your family?  Green eyes, weight problems
10.  Where and when did you get married? 1986 in Houston, TX
11.  What memory stands out the most from your wedding day? The reception and having a good time with my friends
12.  Why did you choose your children's names? I wanted them to keep their Russian names so they would have something from their birth moms.  Patrick was the name of a priest that helped us during a difficult time.  I am not sure where Kimberly came from.
13.  What was your proudest moment as a parent? Pasha in marching band.  I knew group activities was not his thing but he went out there and was fabulous.
14.  What was your profession and how did you choose it? Accountant and then executive.  I loved accounting from my first college class.  Executive chose me.
15.  What accomplishments were you the most proud of? Successfully selling a business in bad economic times.
16.  Of all the things you learned from your parents, which do you feel was the most valuable? To tell the truth.
17.  Are there any special heirlooms, photos, bibles or other memorabilia that have been passed down in your family? No.
18.  Who was the oldest relative you remember as a child? What do you remember about them? My grandfather.  He came from Russia.  He was very short and was always happy.  I knocked down part of the garage pulling out with him in the car and he would not let my dad yell at me.
19.  Did you have any pets? If so, what kind and what were their names? I had a parakeet named Osbourn.
20.  What world events had the most impact on you while you were growing up? Did any of them personally affect your family? Vietnam
21.  What was your favorite toy and why? I had a small stuffed poodle and I got it for “babysitting” my brother when I was 7 or 8.
22.  Did you receive an allowance? How much? Did you save your money or spend it? I did not have an allowance but earned money.  I saved some and spent some.
23.  Any trouble with the law? Traffic tickets.
24.  What is your favorite memory of all time? The adoption of my children.

25.  If you could change one thing in your life, What would it be?  I would be more athletic.

What is your favorite web tool that we have used in class so far this year? Why is it your favorite web tool? What do you like about it? How can you use it again in the future? - google drive is definently the most efficient tool i've used thus far due to it's simplicity and user friendly layout. it's simple to get things done and it also saves after every letter typed which makes for a safe efficient way to make presentations or really do anything else that it offers.

Journal - What makes a presentation memorable? What makes a presentation stand out and not boring? How are you going to make your presentation better than anyone else? How will you make it unique? Explain. - A memorable presentation is something that is interesting and unique. You need to find a way to appeal to the audience while at the same time getting your information across. it helps to have a visual aid besides the presentation it's self. a video generally captures the audience well. a non conventional way is a good way to capture audience attention. im going to make mine memorable because it's a cartoon.

Friday, September 27

Journal - What are you weekend plans? - im not sure what im doing this weekend. today im leaving early to go to a concert with some friends and that should be pretty fun. i've heard some of the bands are mind numbing though i still don't know who's actually going. That should take up all of my friday. On saturday ill get back early early morning and probably sleep a lot. ill wake up around 1ish and play some GTA 5 and then ill pry head over to a buddies house and chill there for the night. on sunday my mom comes back from paris so im gonna clean the house before she gets here and then try to avoid her all day. that would be the best option because she'll be cranky and angry im missing school for a concert. i expect sunday to be full of yelling and anger but that's okay because she has anger issues and im used to it.

Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you? - well i believe i can honestly say i don't look up to anyone. in my life there really hasn't been anyone to look up to because im a very individual person and i've never liked it when others views clouded my own so i never looked up to anyone. plus no one was ever worth looking up to.

September Tuesday 10

What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead? - it is essential to have good email etiquette because now a days everything is done electronically. you don't really send mail anymore relaying messages. i mean who would when you can email someone and get a reply back the same day? while as mail is still used for checks and other documents it has become an inefficient way to communicate. so when it comes to a professional email you would need proper etiquette because like a letter no one wants to read a "handwritten mess" if it's prim and proper, and the layout is correct it is certainly much easier to read. with emails you don't have to worry about your handwritting because everything is typeprint. and this is why good email etiquette is required to write a proper email.

Friday September 6

If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue? - i would probably try to fix global warming. it seems that everyday you hear more and more about global warming and how it's effecting us and the ozone layers and the earth in general. while as it does not matter to me whether global warming is fixed in my lifetime it might matter to my sons sons sons sons. 400 years from now either the world will cease to exist as we know it due to yellow stone, a meteor, or global warming. and while as you can't fix yellow stone or a meteor you can attempt to not stop, but slow down the inevitable effects of global warming. so that's why i would try to slow the process of global warming.

Tuesday September 3

On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?- a PSA is a public service announcement. A PSA is used to spread awareness on something that needs fixed. such as child soldiers or dying dogs or other things like that. Those commercials you see all the time on the TV about dying dogs and stuff is by A.S.A.P.A. PSA's are important because it gives an oppurtunity to support and help. while reading the newspaper you see articles about all of it and due to PSA's you can help.

Who Am I Presentation

Wednesday August 28

Journal - What are some qualities of a good presentation? How can you make a boring presentation interesting? Explain.
Some qualities of a good presentation are keeping the slides simple. you shouldn't have all of the information on the board that you want to get across but rather the information on the board that you need to get across. with that information you should then enunciate what you need to get across by providing extra material to solidify and support your points and everything you need to know. when it comes to the power point you shouldn't use the color light blue because that emulates a sky which is relaxing and could make people doze off during your presentation. you should stand up straight talk with enthusiasm. you should throw a few jokes in there to grab the audiences as well. in all reality as long as your confident and your facts are straight and you can speak with enthusiasm you will entrap the audience.

Monday August 26

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."
I think that if your posting on the internet it's already done for. while it might be unethical to "use" someone's photo for reference or example or for other things it still happens and that is why you should be careful about using your image on the internet. what if an online predator took your image and used to to cover up his own identity? that would be super weird and uncomfortable when the cops came knocking on your door saying " do you know this man"? he's the craigslist killer watch out. so yeah you should always be careful what you post because it can always come back in the end to bite you and not always very nicely either.

Journal - What is the importance of online safety and protecting your information? What do you do to protect yourself online? Share an experience you or someone you know has had with online safety- There is a major importance in online safety and protection your information. to protect yourself online it's very simple.

  1. don't put bad pictures online because once it's online there is nothing you can do about it.
  2. Dont put your personal information on the internet such as your social security number or address or anything like that.
  3. i personally have never had an experience with someone who has had internet security problems because everyone i know seems to think it's a good idea not to put all their personal information all over the internet.

Tuesday August 20th

It was alright. I didn't take away much from it but I guess he told me that I shouldn't quit my job which is good feedback. To be honest that quote doesn't mean all to much to me. I guess it's just solidification of an idea that i already understood, that idea being, that you can change the world and influence it if you really want to. You just gotta go out there and work hard and things will eventually fall into place and that's just how it works. You can't do it through lesser work and being lazy and pompous. You need to go out and work it and make it happen. There's nothing more to it.
